In Forever™, you have the ability to edit any photos you’ve uploaded into your account. To access these features, simply click on the photo you wish to work on and click Edit. You’ll then have the opportunity to edit your photo as the original or as a copy. Below is an overview of the different options available to you as you work on adjusting and perfecting your precious family memorabilia. Before getting started, though, keep these facts in mind:
--The Save button, found in the top righthand corner, is only meant to be selected once you have completed making all of your desired edits to your photo—it does NOT save each individual action. To save any changes you have made while you work, you must hit the back arrow in the bottom lefthand corner (or, when applicable, the checkmark in the bottom righthand corner and then the back arrow in the bottom left).
--The Undo button, found in the top righthand corner, will only erase any SAVED changes that you have made, not the last action you may have completed. For example, if you first resized your photo, saved those edits, then was playing around with the filters, hitting the undo button here—without first saving your changes for the filters—would remove the cropping edits you made but keep the filter on your photo.
When using the cropping tool, you have the ability to custom-resize your photo, or use one of the suggested sizes. Please keep in mind that you must click the checkmark in the bottom right before selecting the back arrow in the bottom left in order to save your changes.
Filter, the next tool, lets you cast effects over the entire photo. You can adjust the saturation of these effects by altering the Intensity (in the middle), and you can sort through filters by clicking the “All” option next to the back arrow. Please keep in mind that if you sort through these categories, you must then select the name of the category again and NOT hit the back arrow in order to go back to the full list of filters available. To save your changes, hit the back arrow in the bottom lefthand corner in order to save your changes.
Right beside the Filter tool is the Adjust feature. Here lies an assortment of options, including Brightness, Saturation, Contrast, Clarity, Exposure, Shadows, and Highlights. You can continue switching between these tools until you are satisfied and then choose the back arrow in the bottom lefthand corner to save all of your changes.
Add additional documentation to any photo by using the Text tool. Adjust the size, font, orientation, and color of your font to express anything your photo doesn’t already say. To save any edits you make, just hit the back arrow in the bottom lefthand corner.
For a playful touch, you can use the Stickers tool. Browse the bottom of your screen, or use the “All” function to sort through certain categories. Please keep in mind that if you choose a category, you must hit the name of the category again to exit. For example, if you sort through Hats, then decide you want to see all of the themes again, you must again hit Hats and NOT the back arrow—doing so would exit you from the Stickers tool and save your changes. You can use the arrows on the element to resize it, as well as play with the orientation toward the upper middle of your photo. If you opt to delete your sticker altogether, simply hit the trash can at the end of those options.
The next tool, the Brush tool, allows you to draw on your photo. You can adjust the color and intensity of your paintbrush, but please keep in mind that there is no erase option at this time. In order to undo any actions you made, select the back arrow in the bottom lefthand corner of your screen and then select Undo in the top righthand corner.
The next tool, the Focus tool, allows you to pinpoint exactly where you want other’s eyes to be drawn to when viewing your photo. You can choose between either a Radial or Linear focus, depending on your photo.
Upon choosing one of these options, you then have the additional abilities to adjust the size of your focus range (by clicking on the white circle and dragging to resize) and determine the strength of your blur in the background. Please keep in mind that any edits you make in this view will only be saved by first clicking the checkmark in the bottom right hand corner of your screen and then selecting the back arrow in the bottom left.
The last tool, the Border tool, allows you to place a frame around your photo. You can adjust the width of your border as well as the color. Select the checkmark in the bottom righthand corner to save your changes and then hit the back arrow.
Once completely satisfied with your photo’s alterations, hit the blue Save button in the top righthand corner of your screen to preserve all of your edits. Once finished, you will be brought back to the image lightbox view.
